Hikers Airlifted off Table Mountain

On Sunday 3 October 2021, at approximately 09:45, members of SARZA were requested by WSAR to respond to the Table Mountain National Park in the vicinity of Spilhaus Ravine.
2 SARZA units responded and were tasked with transporting members of MCSA up into the mountain in event weather conditions did not allow for a helicopter extrication of the hikers.
Fortunately the Western Cape Department of Health EMS/AMS Rescue helicopter was able to extract all nine members off the mountain safely and no need for an Interaccess from above was required.
Members of the public are urged to save emergency numbers on their cellphones in event they may require assistance.
