During the past two weekends, SARZA have assisted at the Virgin Active Ride Joburg events.
These are our biggest fundraisers for the year.
Not only is it fantastic and challenging training but it also a great opportunity for team building within our unit, as five out of six regions were represented.

The SARZA teams start JOC setup, as well as safety during the #CoffeeRide on Saturday morning at 6am. Teams then drive the route to show any new members what is expected, to check in on any infrastructure and road changes, and to confirm the final plan.
Through the night we assist the route builders and waterpoint setup by lighting the scene and ensuring the project plan is executed. In JOC, we assist the organisers by having eyes and ears over the 97km route and resolving challenges as they arise.
During the day, SARZA is in command and control of communication and logistics. Each point is manned with SARZA alongside JMPD Metro Police and Netcare 911.
Thank you to all the SARZA members who volunteered their time during these weekends.
“The greatest gift you can give someone, is your time.” -Rick Warren
“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.” -Elizabeth Andrew,
Well done to all the riders who participated in the Virgin Active Ride Joburg races.
SARZA sends their condolences and strength to the family and friends who unfortunately lost their loved one last weekend and we wish a speedy recovery to those who were injured.
